WORKOUT TIMERS

EMOM timer

A cue at the top of every minute: do your reps, rest for what’s left, go again

EMOM stands for every minute on the minute. At the start of each minute you do a set number of reps; whatever time is left in that minute is your rest. The faster you move, the more you rest. Most EMOMs last 10 to 20 minutes, and many alternate exercises from one minute to the next.

How to set it up in Cero

  1. Create a new advanced timer and choose the EMOM (1–3 min) template.
  2. Set minutes per cue: 1 for a classic EMOM, or 2 or 3 to start a set every 2 or 3 minutes.
  3. Set rounds to the number of cues you want.
  4. Give each interval the name of its exercise, with its own color and icon.
  5. Save it.

Workout ideas

  • 12 minutes: 10 kettlebell swings and 5 push-ups every minute.
  • 16 minutes, alternating: 12 squats on odd minutes, a 30-second plank on even minutes.
  • Every 2 minutes for 20 minutes: 5 heavy deadlifts or a 250 m row.
